What gives Diamond Crown its exceptional taste is the five-year-old CFW (Connecticut Fermented Wrapper). Unlike most other quality tobacco, Diamond Crown's CFW wrapper goes through a second fermentation. Specially fermented five-year-old wrapper leaves are unpacked from the bale and then conditioned and graded. The silkiest, smoothest leaves are then selected and placed in bulks for a second fermentation It is this "second curing " that evens and develops the rosado color of the tobacco wrapper and this "second curing" also accounts for much of Diamond Crown’s Sweet, smooth, rich flavor.

Included in each Diamond Crown cabinet a numbered certificate is placed - a guarantee that only the cigars most perfect in appearance, firmness and wrapper texture have been selected and approved by experienced inspectors.

Dimaond Crown Maximus cigars were developed to be the "fuller-flavored complement" to the Diamond Crown cigars. It is Carlito's secret blend of specially aged Dominican filler tobacco's, combined with the special Ecuadorian tobacco wrapper exclusively sungrown on the El Bajo region. Despite its rich, dark Ecuador wrapper, Diamond Crown Maximus is not a maduro cigar. The richest, hardiest and darkest tobacco that Carlos selects for Maximus comes from the top corona priming of the plant.
